Located in the ideally suited, beautifully sloped,
terroir of the cool- climate region of Elgin, Arumdale is one of the first
estates to concentrate on red wine made from really late harvested, fully
ripened fruit. Arumdale’s Shiraz and was,
indeed, the first Shiraz vineyard
planted in the region.
The proprietor, Mark Simpson, set out to make leading
edge quality wines, using in both in-vineyard and wine-cellar, best
practice.

tasting of the Wine of the Month Club, South Africa, for 2008.
Amply smooth, generously plump and velvety, this Cab finishes with a light
caramel feel. This is our “Bentley Corniche”

Here, Arumdale is showing a really exciting addition
to their portfolio, and this wine has taken its tasters by storm.
Selected vineyard siting and the fine soils have produced, in our
cool-climate, this extremely fine example of the cool-climate capacity
of Arumdale, to produce this leading, elegant wine. The mouth-feel is
protects from the ‘bite’ of acidity, which helps to show the balance of
the complexity and of the flavour of the cultivar. The ability of this
wine to suit so many a subtle dish, as its accompaniment, is amply

Taking a selection of date of harvest, and the
particular area of the shiraz vineyard, the winemaker, Franz Joseph
Blomendahl, and Mark Simpson, have created this enticing rose made
from Shiraz grapes exclusively. The interesting characteristics of
the shiraz grape show amply in this cool-climate- produced wine. A
light spicyness subtly is apparent along with the soft fruit of the
